Research: Handwritten Manuscripts

Marc Adam Kolakowski is assistant at the Bodmer Lab and instructor at the Institute of Religions, Cultures and Modernity (ICRM), at the University of Lausanne. Following a Bachelor and a Master ès Lettres at the University of Geneva, he is now writing his doctoral thesis on a Swiss Renaissance scholar and his comparatist studies: Johann Wilhelm Stucki (1542-1607), from Antiquarian History to the History of Religions [Johann Wilhelm Stucki de Zurich (1542-1607), de l’histoire antiquaire à l’histoire des religions]. Over the course of his doctoral research, he has joined the Cultures of Knowledge project at Oxford University and participated in the development of several catalogues of letters for the platform, Early Modern Letters Online (EMLO), including the first volume of Stucki’s correspondence (ca. 1100 letters). He is also an affiliated member of the European project, Reassembling the Republic of Letters and worked with the Martin Bodmer Foundation, where he coordinated, under the direction Michel Jeanneret and Sylviane Messerli, the Sources collection, published by Presses Universitaires de France.
