Michel Jeanneret, one of the three co-directors of the Bodmer Lab, was recently elected foreign member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. This Italian institution of science and letters derives its name from the powerful eyesight of the lynx. Founded in 1603 with the mission of protecting the freedom of research from the interdictions of the Church, it is the oldest scientific academy in the world.
