Representing French Florida (1564-65): from 16th-Century Prints to Graphic Novels

In May 2018, graphic novelist Jean Dytar published Florida (Éditions Delcourt), which tells the story of a 16th-century French expedition to the New World through images. The Bodmer Lab, for its part, digitised and studied the source text used by Jean Dytar. He will explain how he constructed his book using historical data and what relationship his images have to those from the 16th century.
