Having received a dual training in conservation/restoration of artwork and in art history, Aurélia Costes has worked as restorer of books and graphic documents since 2014. In April 2016, she joined the Bodmer Lab to establish criteria for works selected for digitisation. Accordingly, books are directed to the reproduction medium appropriate to their condition. Her activity also deals with the restoration of bindings and handwritten manuscripts before digitisation.
